Community Guidelines

Last updated November 1, 2026

1. Why these guidelines exist

Cardvoo is a place to study. Many of the people here are students, and some are under 18. These guidelines explain what is and is not welcome in the parts of Cardvoo that other people can see: public decks, usernames, profiles, Friends and public tutors. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. The basics

  • Be kind. No bullying, harassment, hate, threats or sexual content.
  • Keep it about studying. Don't use Cardvoo to sell things, spam people or send links to other sites.
  • Don't share anyone's private information, and don't share your own: no addresses, phone numbers, school names or social media handles in a deck, a username or a tutor.
  • Don't pretend to be someone else, a teacher, or Cardvoo. Names that look like staff or like our brand are not allowed.
  • Only share what you have the right to share. See our Copyright / DMCA Policy.

3. Usernames and profiles

Your username is public. We check every chosen username, and we may change one that breaks these guidelines. Your profile picture is your Voo, the Cardvoo mascot: there are no photos, and no free-text bio. Accounts aged 13 to 17 can only have a friends-only or private profile. You choose who sees your profile in Settings.

4. Friends

  • Friends is for people you know. Only send a request to someone you would be happy to study with.
  • A request needs the other person to accept. If someone says no or doesn't answer, don't keep asking.
  • You can remove a friend, block someone or stop receiving requests at any time, and nobody is told.
  • Accounts under 13 have no friends. A friend request works only between accounts of the same age group.
  • A friend request, an invite link and a study buddy invite work only between accounts aged 13 to 17 or between accounts aged 18 or over, never across the two. A person under 18 can share a link for a friend in the same age group to use.
  • There is no messaging on Cardvoo. Don't try to move a conversation to another app with a minor, and don't ask a person to meet or to share photos or personal details.
  • If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them and report their username. If you are worried about your safety or a friend's, tell a trusted adult, and contact your local emergency services if someone is in danger.

4a. Recall Race

In a public Recall Race match you may be matched with a person of a different age. There is no chat. If anyone plays in a way that bothers you, use Report or Block in the match.

5. Public decks and public tutors

  • Public decks and public tutors are checked before they appear and can be reported by anyone who can see them. Three reports hide an item until we review it.
  • A public tutor must be safe for teenagers: no unsafe, sexual or violent roleplay, no medical, legal or financial advice that pretends to be professional, no claims to be a real person, and no instructions that try to switch off safety rules.
  • Don't put other people's copyrighted text in a tutor's instructions.
  • A tutor's owner can unpublish it at any time. If we take a tutor down, we normally also turn off the copies other people made.
  • AI can be wrong, and a tutor is a study helper, not a teacher, doctor or counsellor. Check important facts.

6. Reporting

Use the report button on a deck, a tutor or a username, or email [email protected]. Tell us what is wrong. We review every report and we never tell the person you reported who you are. You can only report the same item once.

7. What happens if the guidelines are broken

We remove the content and may use our strikes system: a warning, then a temporary suspension, then a permanent ban for repeated or serious violations. If something puts a person at risk we may act at once. You can appeal a ban in the app or by email. See our Terms of Service for the full rules.

8. Feeling stuck or unsafe

If studying is hard because you feel very down or are thinking about hurting yourself, please talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, a teacher or a school counsellor. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or a local crisis line. Cardvoo shows helpline numbers for your country when a safety message appears and you have set a country in Settings.
