Cardvoo

Terms of Service

Last updated November 1, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Cardvoo, an AI-assisted spaced-repetition flashcard app with study mini-games, a Study-to-Earn rewards system, and 1v1 Recall Race. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. Cardvoo is operated by Bleart Emini, a sole proprietor, in 200 Greenville St Ste C, Newnan, Georgia 30263, United States ("we", "us").

We add features one at a time. If these Terms describe a feature that is not switched on for you yet, it is not part of what you can use until it is, and the rules for it apply from the day it is switched on.

2. Eligibility & age requirements

You self-report your birthdate when you sign up. If you're under 13, a parent or guardian must complete a verifiable consent step (an emailed link, expiring after 72 hours) before your account activates, and your account stays locked until then. You must be 13 or older to have an account on your own. A child under 13 can use Cardvoo only with a parent's consent, as described above. In these Terms and the Privacy Policy, an account is managed by a parent when it is under 13 and was opened with a parent's consent or is waiting for one.

2a. Trying Cardvoo as a guest

You can try Cardvoo as a guest, without an account, only if you are 13 or over. If you use Cardvoo as a guest, these Terms apply to you. A guest can review flashcards from one deck, and nothing else: no AI, games, friends, ratings or purchases. Your guest progress is stored only on your device, may be lost if you clear your browser's data and is deleted automatically 14 days after you last use it. If you sign up, we add it to your new account only if you are 13 or over and your account is not set up with a parent. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must complete the consent step in Section 2 before you can use Cardvoo at all, and you cannot use it as a guest.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think your account has been compromised. We may ask you for feedback about Cardvoo, and what you tell us is covered by Section 4l of the Privacy Policy. You are never required to answer.

3a. Closing your account

You can delete your account yourself in Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Our Data Deletion Policy explains each step and what happens to your data, and our Privacy Policy explains what we keep.

  • A paid plan that is still renewing must be cancelled in Billing first. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period (Section 4).
  • Deleting locks your account at once, so any paid time left on a cancelled plan ends. If you write to us within 30 days of asking for the deletion, we refund each full month of that paid time that was still to come on the day you asked, and not a month that had already begun. The email we send to confirm the deletion tells you this, and so does the locked screen.
  • You have 30 days to cancel the deletion. After that, the account and its data are deleted and cannot be restored. Counting those 30 days, your data is gone from our systems and backups within about 65 days of your confirming (Privacy Policy Section 10).
  • If you are a teacher, you must first transfer or close each of your classes. If you cannot, write to us and we will close a class for you.
  • If your account is under 13, your parent has to confirm the deletion, and a parent can also ask to delete the account.
  • We can also suspend, remove or ban an account under Section 7.

4. Subscriptions & billing

  • Standard: $5.99/month, or $49.99/year billed annually.
  • Pro: $12.99/month, or $99.99/year billed annually.
  • A yearly plan costs less than twelve monthly payments: about 30% less on Standard and about 35% less on Pro.
  • Educator: $6.99/month or $49.99/year. Educator+: $14.99/month or $119.99/year.
  • Free AI allowance for teachers. An approved teacher who has no Educator plan may get a one-time free allowance of cloud AI for a few teacher tools, shown in the app as a usage bar. It is not a purchase and not money, has no cash value, does not renew, is not the Educator plan's AI allowance, may be lower than the bar suggests on days when we have limited free use across all teachers, does not guarantee any number of uses, and may change or end. It is for one teacher per verified school email; creating more than one account to get more can end it on all of them. It does not cover every AI tool, and the app shows which it covers. If you start an Educator trial or a paid Educator plan, the paid plan replaces the free allowance. A seat paid for by a school carries the same free allowance and no more. We do not use the free allowance to choose a price or an offer for you.
  • School seats. A school or district can buy seats for its teachers by written quote. A School's order is covered by its quote and the School Plan Terms, not by the consumer billing rules in this Section 4, and a school plan does not renew automatically. A seat carries the same free AI allowance as any approved teacher and does not include an Educator plan's AI. The price list is on cardvoo.com/schools.
  • Student discount (a verified school .edu email, or a reviewed student ID photo or class schedule): a discount applied automatically at checkout on monthly plans only, which makes Standard $3.99/month (a $2.00 discount) and Pro $8.99/month (a $4.00 discount). The student discount cannot be combined with a promo code, a referral free month or a welcome-back offer.
  • Paying if you are under 18. If you are under 13, you cannot buy a paid plan yourself; a parent or guardian can subscribe on their own account. If you are 13 to 17, you can buy a paid plan yourself with any payment method. When you pay, you confirm that you have the right to use that payment method. Cancelling and refunds work the same way for everyone, as this Section 4 describes.
  • Top-off bundles of extra AI use are $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99, and the podcast pack is $6.99, each a one-time purchase.
  • AI allowances. Paid plans include a monthly AI allowance. It is a ceiling, not a guarantee of any number of uses, and it may be lower on yearly and student plans. We count your use against it from the cost our AI providers report for each request (or our own price list when a provider reports none). Pro includes, each month, up to 50 minutes of podcast audio (26 on yearly and student plans), up to 255 Walk & Recall voice answers on the monthly plan, and up to 43 Snap & Occlude photos. The allowance for each plan is shown on the pricing page and in the app.
  • Standard (monthly) offers an optional 7-day free trial, chosen at checkout and available once per account and per payment card. A payment method is required upfront, you are not charged during the trial, and the subscription turns into a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. Standard (annual), Pro (monthly) and Pro (annual) have no free trial and are charged when you subscribe. A free month from a referral works the same way (Section 4b). A free trial and a referral free month do not stack. Free trials, promo codes, referral free months and welcome-back offers cannot be used on an account under 13; a parent or guardian can subscribe on their own account instead.
  • Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each billing period (monthly or yearly), and we charge the card you gave us, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings, then Billing, without contacting us. We email you a reminder once a year with your plan, price, renewal date and how to cancel; for a yearly plan we send it 30 days before each renewal.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period: you keep paid access through the period you already paid for, then move to the free tier at renewal.
  • Pausing. On a monthly plan you can pause for 1, 2 or 3 months instead of cancelling, once in any 12 months. You are not charged while paused; you keep paid access to the end of the period you paid for, then use the Free plan until the pause ends. Your plan then restarts automatically at its price on that date, on the same card, and renews every month until you cancel. We email you 7 days before it restarts. You can restart early or cancel at any time during the pause. Your data is kept.
  • If a payment fails. We, through Stripe, try the payment again over up to 14 days and email you so you can update your card. Stripe may also receive your card's new expiry date or number from your card network when a card is replaced. You keep your paid plan during those 14 days. If no payment succeeds, your plan ends and your account moves to the Free plan, with your data kept. We do not charge you for any period after your plan ends.
  • Same price for everyone. We do not set your price, or the terms of an offer, from your study-activity estimate, how you use the app or any other profile of you. A plan or an offer costs the same for everyone who receives it. We do use your study activity to choose when to show you a message about a paid plan (Privacy Section 5b); you can turn that off by setting Reminders to Fewer or Essentials only, and the message always shows how to keep going for free. Some messages, including a welcome-back offer, are deliberately not sent to a random 1 in 10 people so we can measure whether they help.
  • Content generated while you had a paid plan (e.g. AI-graded test results, cloud-quality mini-game sessions) stays visible as a historical record after you move to the free tier; it isn't deleted, but nothing new is generated on the cloud tier once you're back on free.

Price and plan changes. Our prices were lowered on October 17, 2026. Every existing subscriber moves to the new price at their next renewal, with no change to the period already paid for: a monthly plan at its next monthly renewal, a yearly plan at its yearly renewal. We do not refund any part of a period you already paid for at the old price. A student discount is updated at the same moment. We email the address on your account when the change is scheduled, saying the new price, the new AI allowance and the date it starts, and we send a reminder 7 days before that renewal. Your AI allowance on Standard is set from the plan price, so it is lower when the price is lower; the email says by how much. You can cancel before the renewal and keep access to the end of the period you paid for. In future, if we raise a price or reduce what a plan includes, we will email you at least 30 days before the change (45 days for a yearly plan), it will apply only from a renewal that starts after that notice and never to a period you have already paid for, and you may cancel before it starts. We also post the change on the pricing page.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card details ourselves.

4a. Promo codes

A promo code gives a percentage off a Cardvoo subscription, for the length of time and on the plans stated when you enter the code. The offer shown at checkout is the offer you get. By default a code is 50% off the first month of a monthly plan.

  • Who can use one. A code is for people who have never had a paid Cardvoo subscription. It works once per account, and only one code or referral can be used per checkout. A code cannot be combined with the student price, with a referral free month, with a welcome-back offer, with the 7-day free trial or with another code.
  • Who cannot. Accounts under 13 and parent-managed accounts cannot use promo codes.
  • Limits. A code can have an end date, a limit on how many people can use it, and a list of plans it works on. When the limit is reached or the date passes, it stops working, even if you saved it earlier.
  • Where it comes from. Codes are made by us and shared through places we choose, for example a student group, a social post or a flyer. Each code is tied to one place so we can see which of our own outreach works. We do not use this for advertising.
  • Checking for repeat use. To keep codes fair, we check for repeat use of the same code by the same person. We compare a device marker Cardvoo creates in your browser, the network address (IP) you connect from, and a card fingerprint from Stripe (not your card number). See our Privacy Policy.
  • No cash value. A code is not money, cannot be sold or traded, and cannot be refunded or exchanged. If a code was used by breaking these rules (for example a second account to get a second discount), we can remove the discount and end the offer on that account. We email you when we do, and the normal price applies from your next billing date. We do not charge you extra in the middle of a period you already paid for.
  • Renewal. If a code gives a lower price for a number of months, the normal price starts after that and is charged to the card you gave us until you cancel. The checkout page shows the discounted price, how long it lasts, and the price after that, before you pay.
  • Taxes. Prices do not include sales tax or similar taxes where they apply; the checkout page shows them before you pay.
  • Changes. We can stop offering a code at any time. A code you have already used keeps the terms it had when you used it.

4b. Refer a friend

If you are 13 or older, you can share your Cardvoo referral code or link with a friend. You do not need a paid plan to share it.

  • What your friend gets. A friend aged 13 or over who has never had a paid Cardvoo subscription can start one month of Standard (monthly) free. A card is required to start it. The free month turns into a paid Standard (monthly) subscription at the end of the month, at the price shown at checkout, unless your friend cancels before then. We send reminder emails 7 days and 3 days before the first charge. During the free month the friend's cloud AI allowance is the smaller "new subscriber" allowance that applies to any new subscriber (30% of the normal Standard allowance).
  • What you get. When your friend has paid for Standard and is still subscribed 30 days after that first payment, you get one free month. A friend who cancels during the free month does not count. If you have a paid plan, the free month is added to your current plan as 30 days of time. If you are on the Free plan, we save the free month and apply it when you first subscribe; a saved free month expires 12 months after you earn it. You can earn up to 3 free months in any 12 months. A free month is time, not cash, and a reward is lost if the friend's payment is refunded or charged back.
  • A thank-you with no purchase. Separately from the free month, when a friend who signs up with your code or link has studied on 3 different days within 30 days of signing up, you earn one streak freeze, or, if you already hold the most freezes you can (2), one cosmetic item for your Voo. This needs no payment by your friend and is not money, a discount, AI credit or a free month; it cannot be bought, sold or transferred and has no cash value. You can earn up to 3 of these thank-yous in any 12 months. Only accounts aged 18 or over can earn it, and not an account that is managed by a parent, is in a class or is a teacher account. Your friend must be 13 or over and must not have an account managed by a parent or be a student in a class. We do not tell you who the friend is or what they studied. If a friend account is found to be you, a second account of yours, a person on your device or a fake account, we can remove the thank-you and end the offer on the accounts involved. We can change or end the thank-you at any time.
  • Monthly plans only. The offer is for Standard (monthly).
  • One offer per person. A friend can use one referral or code per checkout, and a referral cannot be combined with a promo code, the student price, a welcome-back offer or the 7-day free trial. Your friend gets either the free month or the 7-day trial, not both.
  • Not for yourself. You cannot refer yourself, a second account of yours, or a person who shares your device or card. We check for this (see our Privacy Policy). If a referral is found to be a self-referral or made through a fake account, we can cancel the free month, remove the reward, and end the offer on the accounts involved. We email you when we do.
  • Share honestly. When you share your code, say that you get a free month if your friend subscribes. Do not send a code to people who did not ask, and do not post it where it targets children. The rules in Section 7 apply.
  • Under 13 and parent-managed. If you are under 13, or your account is parent-managed, you cannot refer or be referred. If you are 13 or over, you can share your code and start a referral free month on your own account. The thank-you for the person who referred is for accounts aged 18 or over.
  • Changes. We can change or end the program at any time. Free months you have already earned stay valid until their 12-month expiry or until you close your account.

4c. Welcome-back offer

If you are 13 or over, on the Free plan, and have not studied for a while, we may email you a welcome-back offer: $3.00 off your first month of Standard (monthly), so the first month costs $2.99. After that first month your plan renews automatically at the regular price of $5.99 a month (plus any tax shown at checkout), charged to the same card every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings, then Billing, without contacting us; cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you paid for.

  • When it ends. The offer works for 14 days from the date of the email. The end date is in the email and on the Billing page.
  • Who can use it. One welcome-back offer per person in any 12 months, used once, on your own account. It is not available to accounts under 13, class accounts, anyone who cancelled a paid plan in the 60 days before the offer, or anyone whose payment to us was refunded or charged back in the last 12 months.
  • Not combined. It cannot be combined with the student price, a promo code, a referral free month, the 7-day free trial or a pause. If you have a verified student discount, the student price may be better for you; the Billing page shows both.
  • Repeat use. We check for repeat use as described in Section 4a (a card fingerprint from Stripe, a device marker and the network address, kept as described in our Privacy Policy).
  • No cash value. The offer cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money. We can end the offer program at any time; an offer you have already used keeps its terms.

5. Free tier & ads

The free tier shows no ads today: the ad display is switched off. If we ever turn ads on, we will update these Terms first and ask you to accept the change, and these rules would apply. The free tier would show ads on the dashboard and between mini-game sessions, and never inside an actual study session (Flashcards/Learn/Test or a mini-game itself). Optional rewarded video ads could earn extra gated-mode runs, delivered through Google AdMob/Google Ad Manager; credit would be granted only once Google's systems confirm the ad actually played. Optional rewarded video would be for accounts aged 18 or over. Accounts under 13 would never see ads, accounts aged 13 to 17 would see only non-personalized ads, and teachers and Educator subscribers would never see ads and the Teacher Hub would never show ads (see our Privacy Policy, Section 3). An account that is a member of a class would see no ads at all, on any page, whatever its age or plan, and would not be offered the optional rewarded video. This follows the account's membership: an account that has left every class would follow the other rules in this section again.

The free tier includes a limited number of study-mode runs. You also earn runs by studying: every 4 Good or Easy reviews earn 1 extra run.

Free AI limits. The Free plan includes a few cloud AI uses, such as the source-checked Prompt Deck tries and the cloud backup for a deck your device could not make. To keep the Free plan fair for everyone, each Free account also has a small daily limit on the cloud AI we pay for, including the safety check that runs before a deck is made public. When the day's limit is reached, AI features use your device or ask you to try again the next day, and making a deck public may have to wait until the next day. A free Prompt Deck try counts as used once its cards have been shown to you, even if you then cancel. For your first deck on the Free plan, if you are 13 or over, your account is not managed by a parent, is not in a class and is not a teacher account, and you have chosen to allow cloud AI, we may make it in the cloud with a source check by default, using one of your source-checked tries. The cloud backup for a deck your device could not make still needs a verified email. You can turn the first-deck default off before the deck is made and use your device.

Streak freezes, make-up days and rest days. You earn a streak freeze for each 7-day streak and can hold up to 2; a freeze is used automatically to keep your streak when you miss a day. If your streak breaks, you can earn one make-up day by completing the extra study the app shows within 48 hours, and your streak is restored. You can also plan rest days or a break, within the limits shown in the app, and your streak is held during them. Freezes, make-up days and rest days are features of the app, not purchases: they cannot be bought, sold or transferred, have no cash value, and may be changed or removed. We never charge to restore a streak.

Reminders. We may send you reminders and, if you are 18 or older, a few messages if you have not studied in a while. You control these in Settings. We do not guarantee the timing of any reminder.

Party packs. Games played from a party pack (on the Party page) do not earn XP, streak days or league points. Taboo, Recall Race and Cardvoo Live can be played from packs on every plan; Charades from packs needs Pro.

6. Your content

You own the decks and cards you create, and the diagrams you make, including any picture you add to one. You give Cardvoo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, display, check (including by automated safety checks) and back up your content so that we can run Cardvoo for you. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies that other people already made under the permission described below and for backup copies until they age out (Privacy Policy Section 10). Some cards contain text from sources that have their own license, such as Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0). Those parts stay under that license and not under "you own", the license travels with the deck whenever it is saved or remixed, and the deck's sources list names each one. Setting a deck to "Public" makes its title, category, course/topic label and a sample of its first cards visible to anyone on Cardvoo's Explore page and the deck's public page, without requiring them to have an account; the rest of its cards need an account. You're responsible for the content you make public. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share. A cover photo you pick from Unsplash is not your content: it stays under Unsplash's license, which allows use in Cardvoo and requires that we credit the photographer, and we may hide it if Unsplash removes the photo or if your paid plan ends.

Public tutors. Accounts aged 13 and over that can build custom tutors may publish one to Explore or share its link. Accounts under 13 and parent-managed accounts cannot publish. By publishing, you allow Cardvoo to show the tutor's name, description and subject and your username to other signed-in users aged 13 and over (and, through its link, a preview to anyone who has the link), to let them try it and add their own copy, and to keep those copies after you unpublish. Every public tutor is reviewed, can be reported, and can be hidden or removed by us. You are responsible for what your tutor says and for the material in its instructions: don't publish a tutor that is unsafe, that pretends to be a person, a teacher or Cardvoo, or that uses content you don't have the right to share. There are no ratings, payments or payouts for tutors. A copy belongs to the person who added it, for their own study. If we remove a tutor, we normally also turn off the copies other people made, and a copy that is turned off cannot be turned back on. We may turn off an account's ability to publish tutors, and we tell the owner why.

Public decks, saves and remixes. When you set a deck to Public, you also allow other people on Cardvoo who are 13 or over to save a copy of it to their own library and to change their copy for their own study, and, if they are 13 or over, to publish their changed copy on Explore with a credit line that links to your deck and names you (if you are under 18 the credit reads "a Cardvoo student" and does not name you). A copy and a remix are independent decks: they are not changed when you edit your deck, and they stay with the person who made them if you unpublish or delete your deck or your account (if you delete your account the credit line then reads "A former user"). We show how many people saved your deck and, when at least 5 people have said so, how many said it worked for them; you see counts and never who. Only accounts aged 13 or over can mark a deck "worked for me" or publish a remix. Do not remix a deck to pass it off as your own, do not remove the credit, and do not mark a deck as "worked for me" if it did not, or to push a deck up the list. Public decks and remixes follow the same safety checks, reports and removal as any public deck, and our Copyright / DMCA Policy applies to remixes: if we remove an original because of a copyright notice, we may also remove remixes that copy the same material.

A score card you make is yours to share. Do not use one to claim a result you did not earn, and do not share a card that shows another person's name or information.

Shared units. An approved teacher can share a unit to the Educator tab of Explore, which is shown only to approved teachers who are signed in. By sharing, you allow Cardvoo to show the unit's title, course label, summary, standards codes, lessons, the titles of its materials and its exit tickets, and your username as credit to other approved teachers, to let them preview it and add their own copy (which carries the unit's title and lessons) and change that copy, and to keep copies after you unpublish or delete your account. A shared unit holds no student data; do not put any in it. Every shared unit is checked, can be reported, and can be hidden or removed by us. Share only what you made or have the right to share, and do not share a course description, exam or other document that belongs to someone else. Copies belong to the teacher who added them. If you delete your account, copies others already added stay with them and the credit changes to "A former Cardvoo teacher".

7. Acceptable use & enforcement

Don't use Cardvoo to harass others, share content you don't have rights to, cheat the Study-to-Earn or ad-reward systems, abuse promo codes, referral links, free months or welcome-back offers (for example by creating several accounts, or referring yourself), or attempt to contact minors outside the app's built-in safety restrictions. Friends is for studying with people you know: don't send repeated or unwanted requests, don't use Friends, usernames or tutors to bully, pressure or pester anyone, and use Block or Report if someone does. We enforce this with a strikes system: a warning, then a temporary suspension, then, for repeated or serious violations, a permanent ban. Banned accounts can appeal; see the in-app appeal flow or email us. Our Community Guidelines explain in plain language what is and is not welcome. See also our Copyright / DMCA Policy for how we handle claims that content you've shared infringes someone else's copyright.

8. Accounts under 18

Accounts aged 13 and over can use public matchmaking in 1v1 Recall Race, which matches you with other people who are playing the same deck, including people of a different age: a person aged 13 to 17 can be matched with a person aged 18 or over. Accounts under 13 do not use public matchmaking. In a public match you see only the other player's username and the answers; there is no chat, voice or message. You can report or block the other player at any time during or after a match. We keep a record of who played whom, as our Privacy Policy describes, so that we can look into reports. If you do not want to be matched with strangers, play a friend-invite match instead.

Public decks and leaderboards are visible to minors. Cardvoo shows other people as little about a minor as it can: an account under 13 is never named on a public deck, a league list or a leaderboard, and, where the Privacy Policy says so (Sections 4d, 4h and 7), an account under 18 is shown as "a Cardvoo student" as the owner of a deck or in a remix credit. A public profile of an account aged 13 to 17 shows only the username, the plain default Voo and study stats; it never shows a real name, a photo or a school.
Friends is available from age 13: accounts under 13 have none, and a request always needs the other person's acceptance.
A friend request, an invite link and a study buddy invite work only between accounts aged 13 to 17 or between accounts aged 18 or over, never across the two.
If your teacher leaves the Classmates list on, students aged 13 and over in the same class can see each other's class names and send friend requests; accounts under 13 are never listed. There is no direct messaging between users anywhere in Cardvoo. Public tutors made by other people are shown only to signed-in accounts aged 13 and over, and not to accounts managed by a parent or to class-only accounts.

Accounts under 13, accounts managed by a parent and accounts of students in a class cannot mark a deck "worked for me" or publish a remix. Accounts aged 13 or over that are not managed by a parent and are not students in a class can mark a deck "worked for me", can use Explore to save a public deck, and can publish a remix. A remix credit never shows the username of a person under 18.

For an account under 13, a parent can ask to change the parent contact (the current and the new address both have to agree) and can ask to delete the account; see our Privacy Policy.

We send an account under 13 at most one study reminder a day and never a win-back message or an offer. An account under 13 cannot use a promo code, a trial, a free month, a referral or a welcome-back offer. Accounts aged 13 to 17 can receive win-back messages, offers and marketing email, and can use promo codes, trials, free months, referrals and welcome-back offers on their own account, in the same way as adults (Privacy Policy Section 5b and Terms Sections 4, 4a, 4b and 4c). Friend streaks and study buddies exist only between friends aged 13 and over, and there are none for accounts under 13. A study buddy invite is only a friend request that the other person has to accept, and only accounts in the same age group can be study buddies.

Cloud AI and age. Accounts under 13 use only the AI that runs on their own device: our cloud AI features are off for them, and a parent cannot switch them on. Accounts aged 13 and over can use cloud AI features, including AI grading of written answers in a class, in the same way, after the one-time choice to allow cloud AI that every account aged 13 and over is asked for. See our Privacy Policy, Section 9.

9. Third-party services

Cardvoo relies on outside providers to work: Stripe (payments, promo codes, free months, welcome-back offers, pauses and failed-payment retries), Google AdSense/Google Ad Manager/Google AdMob (ads), Unsplash (photo search), public download hosts such as Hugging Face (on-device AI model files), an AI provider, OpenRouter, and the model providers it reaches for us (card and distractor writing, study guides, suggestions for a deck's title and tags, diagrams, class practice decks built from topic names, grading and safety checks, and deck creation on the Free plan if you allow it when your device cannot do it), fal.ai and the voice providers it reaches for us (podcast and Walk & Recall voices, speech-to-text for spoken answers), Resend (email), and standard cloud infrastructure (hosting, database, error monitoring). We check student status ourselves, from a school email code or a photo our staff review. See our Privacy Policy and our subprocessors page for what each of these receives.

On-device AI models are provided under their own licences, and the acceptable use policies that come with those models apply to your use of the AI features; see our model credits.

9a. Standards and course names

Cardvoo's unit planner can show the short codes of published learning standards so that a teacher can label a plan. This section applies once the unit planner is available to you. It shows codes and identifiers only. It does not copy the text of any standard, and Cardvoo's AI is not given the text of any standard and is told not to quote one. It is also told not to explain or paraphrase one. If it does anyway, treat what it says as unreliable and check the official source of your state or framework. Codes can be out of date, and the list of codes can be empty or incomplete: Cardvoo offers a framework's codes only once it has loaded them and, where the framework's owner requires permission, has that permission. Cardvoo is not affiliated with and is not endorsed by any state or its department of education.

Where Cardvoo shows a Common Core State Standards code, this notice applies: "Common Core State Standards: © Copyright 2010. National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and Council of Chief State School Officers. All rights reserved."

Where Cardvoo shows a Next Generation Science Standards code, this notice applies: "NGSS is a registered trademark of Achieve. Neither Achieve nor the lead states and partners that developed the Next Generation Science Standards was involved in the production of this product, and do not endorse it."

AP is a registered trademark of the College Board. IB and International Baccalaureate are registered trademarks of the International Baccalaureate Organization. Cardvoo is not affiliated with and is not endorsed by the College Board, the International Baccalaureate Organization, or any college or university. A course outline for an AP, IB or college course in the unit planner is typed by the teacher who uses it. Do not paste or upload a course description, exam or other document that belongs to someone else unless you have the right to.

10. Disclaimers

Cardvoo is provided "as is." AI-generated content (distractors, study aids, deck title and tag suggestions, diagrams, practice decks, podcast scripts, unit plans, alternate versions of lessons, drafted feedback on student work, and anything a tutor says, including a tutor made by another user) can be wrong or unsuitable. It's a study tool, not a substitute for your own coursework or professional advice. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. Articles, study guides, glossaries and subject pages on our public pages are general study help. They are not professional, medical, legal, financial or tax advice, and we do not promise any grade, score, pass or other result from reading them or from using Cardvoo.

10a. Limits on what we are responsible for

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of Cardvoo, and our total liability to you for any claim about Cardvoo is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for our fraud or willful misconduct, or any right or liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including rights you have where you live. If you are under 18, nothing in these Terms limits any right you or your parent have under the law to cancel a contract made by a minor.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. For some changes we ask you to accept the new version before you keep using Cardvoo (and, for an account managed by a parent, we ask the parent), and for others we show a notice. Continuing to use Cardvoo after a change that does not ask you to accept means you accept the update.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms: [email protected]. Cardvoo is operated by Bleart Emini, a sole proprietor, 200 Greenville St Ste C, Newnan, Georgia 30263, United States. Service status: status.cardvoo.com.

13. Governing law

Georgia law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts located in Coweta County, Georgia, except where your local law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

14. If Cardvoo changes hands

We may assign these Terms, and transfer Cardvoo and your account, to a company owned by our founder or to a new owner, by posting a notice on cardvoo.com and in the app and, to an account aged 18 or over, by email to the address on the account. The new owner takes on all of our obligations under these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and from the date we give in the notice the words "we" and "us" mean that company. If the new owner is not a company owned by our founder, you can close your account before the change takes effect, as described in Section 3a. A new owner may not use information about a child under 13 in a way our Privacy Policy does not describe without the parent's new consent. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
